Adapted the TytoCare and Microsoft Teams integration for K-12 settings, giving students in South Carolina and Oklahoma virtual access to a clinician without leaving campus.
THE CHALLENGE
A minor illness shouldn’t cost a school day or a parent’s shift.
Many students, especially in rural and underserved districts, don’t have easy access to a clinician during the school day — a minor illness or injury often means a parent has to leave work, or the student misses class for a trip to urgent care.
WHAT I DESIGNED
The same platform capability, fit to a new setting.
Adapted the existing TytoCare and Microsoft Teams integration for a school-nurse setting — reworking the workflow, device kit, and consent and documentation process to fit how school health offices actually operate, without rebuilding the underlying platform capability.
HOW IT WAS DEPLOYED
Statewide, working district by district.
Rolled out statewide across school districts in South Carolina and Oklahoma, working with school health staff and program administrators to get devices, training, and workflows into nurse offices.
IMPACT
A hospital-grade capability, in a school nurse’s office.
Gave students in two states virtual access to clinicians from the school nurse’s office, extending a platform capability built for hospitals into an entirely new care setting.
